Security and Connectivity
There are two fundamental challenges of IoT devices. Security and connectivity make the foundation for an application to work properly and safely. mbed OS has a security architecture based on the mbed OS uVisor and mbedTLS, and support for several wired and wireless protocols.
Easy to Use Tools
mbed OS is built using C++, but C can also be used by the developer. The newer programming language allows increased productivity, and higher flexibility. mbed OS applications can be built using the mbed Online Compiler, but can also be developed fully in Simplicity Studio, leveraging sophisticated debugging capabilities and profiling.
Great Battery Life
With power management APIs developed in collaboration between Silicon Labs and ARM, mbed OS can automatically determine the optimal sleep state, depending on MCU peripheral usage, allowing significant energy savings while not sacrificing simplicity.
