SMC-105: Managing Wireless Infrastructure in a Smart City

Overview

Smart City traffic management and street lighting systems operate in real-time and are constantly adapting to shifting environmental conditions such as vehicle congestion or changing daylight.

These systems require access live information and data sharing across multiple city departments or systems. And these systems require secure, reliable, low-latency, long-range, and two-way connectivity. If this connectivity is disrupted the consequences can be extremely damaging.

Smart City infrastructure is a complex, interconnected web of systems. The foresight and competencies required to architect and manage such infrastructure are not too similar to that of enterprise networks.

During this session we provide a bird’s eye overview of this wireless infrastructure complexity and how best to approach and manage it.
